Motorola unveils world’s slimmest 5G smartphone – Edge 40

Motorola has announced the world’s slimmest 5G phone – the Edge 40. The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor and comes with a premium vegan leather finish. However, Edge 40 also comes with a PMMA acrylic glass finish in blue colour. Edge 40 has a 6.58 pOLED curved display that supports HDR10+ and a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone also supports Dolby Atmos. It also has an in-display finger print sensor.

The other specifications of the Edge 40 include, 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. In terms of 5G connectivity, the Motorola Edge 40 supports 14 5G bands, 3 Carrier Aggregation and WiFi 6. Edge 40 is also a IP68 phone, that means the phone can withstand water and dust on regular basis.

For photography enthusiasts, the smartphone features a 50-megapixel main camera with a widest aperture of f/1.4, a fast-focusing ambient light sensor, OIS, and a 2.0?m (micron) ultra pixel that captures more light for sharper photos. Edge 40 also comes with a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera with Macro Vision letting users fit more in the frame or get closer to their subject, along with a 32-megapixel hi-res selfie camera.

One of the highlight of the Edge 40’s camera is the Horizon Lock Stabilization feature. The horizon lock feature is another segment first and advances level of OIS which impeccably captures action shots, keeping the camera stable even while rotating up to 360 degrees thus making users not worrying of shaky videos. Additionally, the processing occurs in real-time, without latency, ensuring clear images. Edge 40 also comes with Video Portrait, Audio Zoom and Vlog Mode.

Edge 40 runs on Android 13 and features Moto Secure and Thinkshield for mobile security. Motorola Edge 40 comes with a 4400mAh battery and supports 68W fast charging. And the good thing is that Motorola bundles the charger in the retail box. For added convenience, the phone also supports wireless charging up to 15W.

With having many first to its name, the Edge 40 is also the 1st Android smartphone in its segment to feature an eSIM option along with a physical SIM. The motorola Edge 40 is available in three colours, Reseda Green and Eclipse Black in vegan leather finish and Lunar Blue in PMMA (acrylic glass) finish. The smartphone will go on sale from 30th May 2023, 12 PM on Flipkart, Motorola.in and leading retail stores including Reliance Digital.

The Edge 40 will retail at Rs. 29,999 and will be available to pre-order starting 23rd May, 12PM onwards on Flipkart. Pre-order consumers get an exclusive Screen Damage Protection Plan, they get a 1-time screen replacement worth Rs 9,500. This offer is available exclusively on Flipkart and valid till 30th May, 2023 – 11:59 am only.
