Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery 6 Review

stellar-main

Earlier this month, we reviewed Stellar’s Phoenix Photo and Video Recovery tool and today we take an in-depth look at the latest version of Phoenix Windows Data Recovery that released a few hours back. Understandably, this latest software supersedes Photo Recovery tool as it allows an end-user to recover almost any file and this time from a variety of sources.

Stellar sells the Windows Data Recovery 6 in three SKUs – Home, Professional and Technician. We’re taking a look at the Professional SKU that gives most of the features sans remote recovery and RAID recovery support and is available only in the Technician version. You can check out the full feature chart below.

Stellar emphasises on the ease of use that even a novice user can use and the new app is no different. The start up window is greeted by four self-explanatory buttons – Drive Recovery, CD DVD Recovery, Photo Recovery and Email Recovery.

Drive Recovery allows to recover from the existing internal hard drive or from any other removable media, which can be further scanned on the basis of different options shown on the right.

stellar-email

While CD DVD and Photo Recovery work in a similar way, Email Recovery helps to retrieve emails from existing Outlook (PST) or Outlook Express (DBX) database.

The software also recovers from an image file and even offers to clone the existing hard drive, create an image or check the status of the drive.

The handy Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery 6 software starts from $49 and though you’d find alternatives in the market, the ease of use makes Stellar’s product more lucrative than others.
