Apple’s App Store today surpassed yet another milestone validating its numero uno status in the world of application stores. The App Store which is available in more than 90 countries has clocked over 15 billion app downloads by more than 200 million iPod touch, iPhone and iPad devices.

Such a large number of downloads wouldn’t have been possible without the choice of apps, which are said to be 425,000 including 100,000 apps designed for iPad.

Apple also said that developers developing on iOS have been paid a sum of $2.5 billion since the inception of store three years ago.
