Sony has increased PlayStation Plus subscription prices for new customers in select regions, effective May 20, citing “ongoing market conditions.” The change covers one-month and three-month plans on the Essential tier.
PlayStation Plus Essential one-month subscriptions now start at $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP, up from $9.99 / €8.99 / £6.99. Three-month plans rise to $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP, from $24.99 / €24.99 / £19.99. Annual plans are not affected.
India is among the exceptions: existing subscribers in India and Turkey will also see the new pricing applied, unlike most other regions, where current subscribers are protected unless their subscription lapses or changes. Sony has not published revised India-specific pricing but it should go into effect in the next few hours.
Sony has not confirmed whether the Extra or Premium tiers are subject to similar price hikes.
