Qualcomm chipset will make sub-$150 phones faster, better

Qualcomm has announced a new chipset that will make mid-range phones perform at par with the high-end smartphones. The new Mobile Station Modem (MSM7227) chipset integrates CPU, graphics processor, GPS, HSDPA/HSUPA and the best part is the support for Android, Symbian S60, Windows Mobile and BREW Mobile Platforms, making it widely compatible.

30 fps WVGA video encode and decode and display support
Phones based on this chipset will launch later this year.
