Sharp flaunts 12 megapixel sensor for mobile phones

The camera mobile phone race is going to get hotter. Sharp has unveiled its creation that will allow mobile phone manufacturers to integrate 12 megapixel sensors in their phones. Sharp is the second company to develop a 12 megapixel CCD sensor after Sony.

Samples will be distributed beginning from this month and is expected to churn out around 300,000 units a month when it hits the production area.
