Motorola has announced the new Moto G5 starting from Rs. 11,999. In this already competitive market where everyone wants to sell their sub 15k phone, the new G5 seems to be a good option on paper. The G5 runs on Snapdragon 435 processor with 3GB of RAM. The internal storage is 16GB and can be expanded using an external SD card up to 128GB. However, do note that Motorola bundles a Sandisk 16GB micro SD card along with the phone. The 5-inch screen of the phone is full HD with 1080p and 441ppi resolution.
There is a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, f/2.0 and LED flash. The front camera is 5-megapixel with wide-angle lens for group selfies. The camera features few software-based enhancements like the signature Best Shot, beautification mode, and professional mode. Motorola has done away with Home, Overview and Back buttons on the G5 and instead uses the front facing fingerprint sensor for these functions. The device employs exclusive moto experiences with simple gestures to turn on everyday features; twist your wrist to launch the camera or preview notifications without needing to unlock your phone.
The phone runs on Android Nougat out-of-the-box and comes with 2800mAh removable battery. The G5 support rapid charging technology for fast charging the battery in few minutes. The phone is available in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold on Amazon India.
On the special launch occasion, Motorola is running a special promo for 5th and 6th April and offering the below:
– Flat Rs. 1000 cashback with HDFC Bank Credit Cards
– Extra Rs. 500/- off on exchange of old smartphone
– Free Sandisk Ultra 16GB MicroSD memory card
– All Moto G5 customers can get a discount of 80% on ebooks up to a maximum of Rs. 300 on the Kindle app
