Gigabyte’s trio of tablets in Computex

June 5, 2008 By Kunal Gangar 1 Comment

Gigabyte M912

Companies have sought Computex as a perfect platform for launching their netbooks. And Gigabyte too joins the bandwagon by unveiling three tablet netbooks. First in the queue is M912 which boasts an 8.9-inch display and is powered by Intel’s 1.6 GHz Atom processor. It is a tablet PC so obviously it does have a touchscreen display and other features which are comparable to its peers like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera and 4GB SSD. It can run up to 4 hours on a single charge.

Gigabyte M700

The M700 is lower in the line which has a smaller screen (7-inch), a slide out design and an unsual split up QWERTY keyboard. The heart of the machine is from VIA, 1.2GHz C7 ULV processor to be precise. It will run Windows XP with HDD options of 40GB or 80GB.

Gigabyte M528

The last UMPC shown is M528 which is 4.8-inches wide and features a slide out keyboard like the M700. This one runs Linux, integrates GPS and a 3 megapixel camera at the back and has connectivity options of HSDPA in addition to the regular ones.
