Samsung Star II S5260

Samsung has announced a new phone targeted at avid social networking users. The Star II will take control from Star and up the social networking ante with the integration of Social Hub and pre-installed apps like Facebook, Twitter and multi instant messaging client.

Surprisingly, the phone is not powered by Samsung’s bada OS but rather a proprietary one that features some enhancements like TouchWiz UI 3.0 and QuickType T9 Trace keyboard. On the hardware front, it has a 3-inch WQVGA screen, 3.2MP camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 1000mAh battery, 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card slot.

The phone will start selling in February in Germany first followed by other European countries, CIS, South America, India and Middle East.
