$199 Sony PS3 rumored, new PS3 units hit FCC

There are a lot of things to make you excited for the upcoming E3 but if you’re Sony fan, here’s something that will definitely get you interested in. Maxconsole happened to stumble upon a PS3 banner that claimed the PS3 price starting from $199.99. The banner was found on Sony’s new 3D page that showed PS3 as one of 3D compatible products. The site speculates that Sony might come up with a budget model with a smaller capacity HDD to ward off competition from Wii and Xbox 360.
Meanwhile, Engadget uncovered a FCC filing of new PS3 consoles that somewhat confirms about new PS3 SKUs. The new models are CECH-2501A and CECH-2501B and will have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but will have different capacity hard drives.
