Qualcomm buys handheld graphics and multimedia division from AMD

Qualcomm announced that they have acquired some part of the graphics and multimedia technology assets from AMD. The deal also includes intellectual property and other resources that were a part of AMD’s handheld arm. Qualcomm has its intention clear with this buyout. They will integrate AMD’s graphics prowess into their system-on-chip (SoC) product, more specifically Snapdragon.
Qualcomm bought the business for a cash consideration of $65 million.
