Lenovo jumps into netbook arena

Lenovo is the latest entrant in the flourishing netbook market. They are offering Ideapad S9 and S10 netbooks as their initial product which measures 8.9-inch and 10.2-inch respectively. The S10 will have a 1.66 GHz Atom processor, up to 1 gigs of RAM, 80GB or 160GB hard drive space, Windows XP or Linux onboard and aimed at internet centric users. For this reason, Lenovo is touting that its keyboard is just 15 percent smaller than the regular size of the keyboard. The display is LED backlit driven and has other features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2 USB ports, 4-in-1 card reader, 1.3 mega pixel web cam and an Express card Slot.
The netbooks are expected to launch in September in India at an undecided price. We can expect it to hover around the US price which is $399.
