Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 mobile platform for entry-level mobile phones unveiled

Qualcomm Technologies has announced the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Mobile Platform, designed to enhance the entry-level mobile experience with advanced features. This platform offers Gigabit 5G connectivity, efficient power management for all-day battery life, and impressive camera capabilities. Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 aims to bring 5G technology to 2.8 billion smartphone users in select regions, delivering peak download speeds of up to 1 Gbps, which is seven times faster than the typical LTE platforms in the same price range.

In terms of imaging capabilities, it supports up to 13+13-megapixel dual camera with 30 FPS zero shutter lag and up to 25-megapixel single camera with 30 FPS zero shutter lag. It features up to 84-megapixel single-shot capture, video image stabilization and multi-frame noise reduction. The on-device display support is at FHD+ @ 90 Hz.

The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 will initially be adopted by key OEMs, including Xiaomi and its sub-brands, with the first commercial device expected to launch before the end of the year. The platform includes features like robust CPU performance for smooth multitasking, dual-band navIC for enhanced positioning accuracy, and AI-powered audio and entertainment experiences, such as seamless gameplay and high-quality video streaming.
