At Computex 2024, Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon joined industry leaders from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and Samsung to showcase the transformative advancements in the PC industry brought about by Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon X Series.

During the event, demonstrations and benchmarks highlighted that PCs equipped with Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors are uniquely capable of delivering Copilot+ experiences. These devices offer unprecedented performance per watt, multi-day battery life, and advanced on-device AI capabilities, featuring the world’s fastest and most efficient NPU for laptops. The first wave of over 20 Copilot+ PCs with these processors is now available for pre-order and will be in stores starting June 18.

Amon emphasized the significant impact of these new PCs on productivity, creativity, and entertainment. “The PC is reborn. Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon X Elite are the fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever built with AI integrated throughout the system and can deliver multi-day battery life,” Amon stated. He acknowledged the partners who joined him on stage, noting that this industry shift positions Snapdragon-powered Windows Copilot+ PCs at the forefront of technological innovation. “Together, we are redefining the personal computing experience and enabling developers to efficiently create apps for this new generation.”

Amon further explained that the NPU in the Snapdragon X Series sets these PCs apart, enabling superior performance and making Copilot+ experiences possible by offloading AI workloads from the CPU and GPU. This results in significant performance boosts and power savings. He highlighted that Qualcomm Technologies is reclaiming performance leadership in the Windows PC ecosystem with the highest NPU performance per watt, delivering up to 2.6 times the performance of M3 and up to 5.4 times that of Core Ultra 71. The Qualcomm Oryon CPU in Snapdragon X Elite offers up to 51% faster CPU performance at ISO power, matching competitor peak CPU performance with 65% less power consumption.

Beyond hardware, Amon showcased Qualcomm Technologies’ leading development tools for next-generation AI apps. The Qualcomm AI Hub allows developers to deploy models on Snapdragon-powered devices in just 5 minutes, utilizing a collection of pre-optimized AI models. The new Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows, equipped with an accelerated Snapdragon X Elite chipset, provides an ideal hardware platform for developers with its popular, stackable form factor.
