Google announces Chrombook Plus, speedier and powerful Chromebooks

Google Chromebook Plus

Over a decade ago, Google introduced Chromebooks, aiming to deliver user-friendly computers with performance at value for money. While these devices featured lower memory and storage as compared to conventional laptops, as Chrome OS was optimised for this. Now Google, has introduced Chromebook Plus that offers twice the performance compared to its predecessors. The Chromebook Plus comes equipped with integrated Google applications and AI capabilities. Additionally, users can enjoy the benefits of Google Photos Magic Eraser and access Adobe Photoshop directly through their web browser.

Every Chromebook Plus model now features speedier processors and double of memory and storage capacity. This boost in performance provides with the capability to accomplish tasks more efficiently. Additionally, all Chromebook Plus laptops sport a Full HD IPS display, ensuring a vivid 1080p HD experience while streaming content. Lastly, the inclusion of a 1080p+ webcam with temporal noise reduction promises smoother, more immersive video calls.

All Chromebook Plus laptops come with the the following guaranteed hardware specs:

CPU: Intel Core i3 12th Gen or above, or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series or above
RAM: 8GB+
Storage: 128GB+

Google is also introducing Magic Eraser’s AI-powered editing to the integrated Google Photos app on Chromebook Plus. This feature allows you to effortlessly eliminate unwanted elements from your images while providing intelligent suggestions for scene enhancement. The app also introduces advanced editing options, including an HDR effect for improved brightness and contrast, as well as the capability to apply portrait blur to your existing photos.

With the addition of the File Sync feature on Chromebook, Chromebook Plus ensures seamless access to your Google Drive files, whether you’re online or offline. By automatically downloading your drive files, it takes full advantage of the generous 128 GB storage capacity offered by the Chromebook Plus.

The Chromebook Plus opens up opportunities for tackling graphically intensive projects, such as those in Adobe Photoshop on the web and Adobe Express Premium. With the support of Adobe Firefly, Adobe’s suite of innovative generative AI models, you can effortlessly enhance, modify, or even generate content using text prompts.
