Samsung Galaxy Fold announced in India

Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, its first foldable screen phone comes to India. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 855 processor, 12GB RAM, 512GB UFS 3.0 internal storage, 4380mAh battery and has a six-camera setup. The cover camera features a 10-megapixel f/2.2 sensor; 16-megapixel ultra-wide, 12-megapixel wide-angle dual pixel, 12-megapixel telephoto at the back; and 10-megapixel selfie along with 8-megapixel RGB depth camera on the front. The phone, however, runs on Android Pie (9.0).

Galaxy Fold has a dual display, the front cover screen is a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED which is used when the device is folded and the large screen of 7.3-inch which is revealed when opened like a book. According to Samsung, the Infinity Flex display used internally does not just bend but also folds, it also features a new polymer layer that has enabled Samsung to create a display around 50 percent thinner compared to a regular smartphone screen.

The phone is priced at a whopping Rs. 164,999. With this price tag, Samsung bundles Galaxy Earbuds free in the box. Besides, it also delivers the phone via a concierge. For owners for Galaxy Fold, Samsung will provide a dedicated 24×7 expert available on call. Samsung offers Infinity Flex Display Protection for one year that covers one-time accidental damage, genuine parts, expert repair service, and Galaxy Fold’s display for Rs. 10,500.

Galaxy Fold bookings will open from 4 October and deliveries will begin 20 October, the phone is available in Cosmos Black colour. Pre-bookings can be done on Samsung’s official online store, Samsung Shop, and offline in 35 cities across select 315 outlets, including the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru.
