Xiaomi introduces Smart Water Purifier, new Smart TVs and more

As we had mentioned recently, Xiaomi today officially announced four new products under its Smarter Living campaign. Xiaomi introduced four new Smart 4K TVs in the 4X series. The Mi TV 4X comes in 40-inch, 43-inch, 50-inch, and its largest screen 65-inch screen size. This also is the flagship TV in its 4X series. The new TVs come with an upgraded version of Xiaomi’s TV UI – Patchwall. All TVs run on Android 9 Pie and will also come with Netflix and Amazon Prime pre-installed. Mi TV 4X (65) features Xiaomi’s in-house Vivid Picture Engine. It features a 4K 10-bit HDR display with a full-metal design with thin bezels. For sound, it comes with 20W stereo speakers with support for Dolby Audio and DTS-HD.

Mi TV 4X (50) and Mi TV 4X (43) also sport 4K 10-bit HDR displays and feature the same 20W stereo speakers with support for DTS-HD. The Mi TV 4X series features VPE calibration, Xiaomi’s in-house image processing technology. VPE will soon also be rolled out to the other Mi TV series.

The 40-inch Mi TV 4X will retail for Rs. 17,999, the 43-inch Mi 4X Smart TV will retail for Rs. 24,999, the 50-inch is priced at Rs. 29,999 and the largest 65-inch TV will retail for Rs. 54,999. These new TVs will be available from 29 September on Flipkart and Mi.com and also at offline stores.


The second new product announced by Xiaomi is the Mi Smart Water Purifier (RO+UV). Xiaomi already has an Air Purifier with this Xiaomi also marks its entry in the water purifier category. Mi Smart Water Purifier (RO+UV) comes with a Penta purification process. This is basically a three filter water purifier that uses PolyPropylene+Activated Carbon (PPC), Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Post Activated Carbon (PAC) along with an in-tank UV light to purify the water. The purifier can be connected to your smartphone via the Mi Home App and can be monitored in real-time for the water TDS level. A good thing about this purifier is that it also alerts users via the App in case there is a need to change the filter. Xiaomi has made this water purifier a DIY kind that does not require any technician or service person to change the filters. One can do the same without any hassle. Thus saving up on the annual maintenance costs. The filter cartridges will be available for RS. 3997 for the complete set. Individual filter cartridges can also be purchased. The price of Mi Smart Water Purifier is Rs. 11,999. This also will go on sale from 29 September on Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Homes.


In the fitness category, Xiaomi announced the successor to the Mi Band 3, the Mi Band 4. Mi Smart Band 4 features, a 0.95-inch colour AMOLED display new smart actions and is 5ATM water resistance. The Mi Band 4 also enables music control and has unlimited customisable watch faces. Apart from tracking activities like running, Mi Smart Band 4 can now track swimming with automatic stroke recognition. As per Xiaomi, Mi Band 4 offers a battery life of up to 20 days. Mi Band 4 is priced at Rs. 2299 and will sell alongside of Mi Band 3. Mi Smart Band 4 will be available via Mi.com, Amazon and Mi Homes for from 19 September 2019 at 12 noon.

The last product that Xiaomi introduced at the launch is the Mi Motion Activated Night Light 2. This is a night lamp that automatically turns on if it detects any motion. It sports two brightness settings and conserves energy by shutting off in 15 seconds if no motion is detected. Mi Motion Activated Night Light 2 will be available via Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform for Rs.500 starting 18 September 2019 at 12 noon.
