Xiaomi to launch Mi Smart Band 4 on 17 September

Xiaomi India has been teasing #SmarterLiving campaign on social media. Today the visuals reveal that Xiaomi will launch its successor to the Mi Smart Band 3, the Mi Smart Band 4 in India on 17 September. The Mi Smart Band series from Xiaomi has been pretty successful in India. After Mi Smart Band, there are many Chinese and accessories players in India who launched a smart fitness band to tap the growing market.

The Mi Smart Band 4 will be a good upgrade to the Mi Smart Band 3. Available in International markets, the Mi Smart Band 4 features a 0.95-inch AMOLED display screen with a resolution of 120×240 (RGB). The smart fitness band is light and weighs only 22.1 grams. The Mi Smart Band 4 is also water-resistant up to 5ATM, meaning it can be immersed in 50-meter water depth upto 10 minutes. The display of the Band is protected by 2.5D tempered glass with anti-fingerprint coating. It will also have a single-touch button that will wake the device and also can be used to go back in the menu.

For upgraders from Mi Smart Band 3, the good news is that the Mi Band 4 is also compatible with Mi Smart Band 3 straps. The device has a 512KB RAM and 16MB ROM. Like the Mi Smart Band 3, this will also support Heart Rate monitoring. As per Xiaomi, the 135mAh battery of Mi Smart Band 4 is capable to deliver 20 days of standby time. Mi Smart Band 4 supports various sport modes like Treadmill, Exercise, Outdoor running, cycling, walking, swimming and more.

The Mi Smart Band 4 will work with the Mi Fit App and requires Android 4.4 or iOS 9 or above. The price of the smart fitness band has not been revealed by Xiaomi. However, considering their aggressive pricing strategy and to take on the competition, we speculate that the Mi Band 4 will be priced under Rs. 2,500.
