BBM surpasses 20 million users in one week on Android and iOS

BBM’s arrival on Android and iOS is seeing some good response, according to new numbers released by BlackBerry. BBM users on Android and iOS have surpassed 20 million active users after just a week of the cross-platform launch. BlackBerry says BBM is still seeing a good momentum for the service and takes the total number of active users including on the BlackBerry OS to 80 million users.

BlackBerry also takes a dig at Whatsapp on how it connects since adding a contact’s number is enough for the other party to start chatting on Whatsapp, whcih could be seen as a privacy issue
