Asus O!Play Air HDP-R3 Media Player announced in India

Asus India has launched a new media player to take on Seagate’s FreeAgent Theater, WD’s TV Live and Amkette’s Flash TV. The Asus O!Play Air HDP-R3 HD media player is the latest addition in the O!Play family that adds the much needed wireless functionality in addition to playing most of the widely used multimedia formats.

The O!Play Air HDP-R3 integrates 802.11n Wi-Fi that allows users to wirelessly stream multimedia content over the network or NAS at speeds to up to 600Mbps. However, if wired connectivity is what you prefer, the HDP-R3 also comes with a LAN port emulating the same wireless functionality.

The full HD media player also supports USB 2.0, eSATA connectivity and comes with a card reader slot that takes in CompactFlash (CF), Secure Digital (SD/MMC) and Memory Sticks (MS/MS DUO) without any issues.

The final feature what Asus is really proud of is the O!Play Picture Manager. The picture manager automatically displays the images from the memory cards and allows users to save those images on another storage device.

Asus will sell the device for Rs. 10,500 (excluding taxes).
