Samsung intros five digital cameras

January 19, 2010 By Samsung Hub Leave a Comment

Samsung dropped a big update adding five new cameras to its point-and-shoot range. The cameras introduced are SL630 (PL80), TL105 (ST60), TL110 (ST70), HZ30W (WB600) and HZ35W (WB650).

Samsung SL630

Starting with the SL630 (PL80), the camera seems to be the lowest spec’d of all the cameras unveiled today. SL630 can shoot images at 12.2-megapixel resolution and features a 28mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom. As for the additional features, the camera comes with a 2.7-inch LCD, dual-image stabilization, ability to shoot VGA video and Smart Auto feature that automatically adjusts the brightness, color, scene etc. to churn out the best looking photo. It also has a Perfect Portrait System that consists of a Beauty Shot, Face/Blink Detection, Smile shot etc.

Samsung TL110

Moving up the ladder are TL105 (ST60) and TL110 (ST70). These cameras boast decent point-and-shoot features in a slim 0.65-inches chassis. The TL105 and TL110 are equipped with 2.7-inch LCD and are capable to shoot images up to 12.2MP and 14.2MP respectively. Another difference between both the cameras is the lens, which is 27mm wide-angle with 5x optical zoom and dual-image stabilization for TL110 and 27.5mm wide-angle with 4x optical zoom and digital image stabilization for TL105.

However, there are lots of other common features. Both cameras boast creative effects, which with a touch of a button can add varied types of photo effects; 720p HD video recording at 30fps using H.264 compression; and different scene and manual modes.

Samsung HZ35W

Sitting on top of today’s announcements are 12-megapixel HZ30W and HZ35W. Both have the same 24mm wide-angle Schneider lens and offer superior zoom with 15x optical zoom. Both cameras have dual-image stabilization, 720p video recording along with various other Samsung camera features. A major differentiation between these two however, comes from HZ35W’s 3-inch AMOLED display and GPS with geo-tagging. HZ30W has a regular 3-inch LCD with no GPS.

There are no details on the price of these cameras but expect the TL series to reach retail shelves next month followed by the rest in March.
