Nine WP7 Phones will make up the launch portfolio

Microsoft at its event in NYC unwrapped the phones that will be powered by its new OS. A total of nine phones will be launched this holiday season and will be available from over 60 operators in over 30 countries.

Windows Phone 7 OS is said to bring together things consumers care about and allowing them to access quickly. For instance, all WP7 phones come with customizable Start Screen with Live Tiles that gives real-time updates from the web like news, social updates etc. Furthermore, WP7 devices also support other Microsoft services like Xbox LIVE and Zune Music.

The phones that will be launched this year are:

HTC Surround:

As we mentioned few minutes ago, Surround is meant to be on AT&T. Surround features a sliding Yamaha stereo speakers and a kickstand, making it a complete entertainment device on-the-go. On the specs, front, the phone has a 1GHz QSD8250 Snapdragon CPU, 448MB RAM, 512MB ROM, HSDPA, 3.8-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 5MP camera with LED flash, A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11n, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, digital compass, 16GB internal memory, Dolby, SRS stereo and HTC Hub. It will go for $199 in time for holidays.

LG Quantum:

LG Quantum is also meant for AT&T. The phone features the same Snapdragon CPU as HTC Surround and includes HSDPA support, 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive TFT LCD, 512/256MB ROM/RAM, QWERTY keyboard, 16GB internal memory, 5MP camera with LED flash, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, FM Radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, A-GPS, LG Play To DLNA tech and digital compass. It will sell for $199 in time for holidays.

Samsung Focus:

Next up is Samsung Focus, again destined to come to AT&T. Samsung Focus ups the ante from the above two phones with the same processor but a vibrant 4-inch Super AMOLED display. It has 512MB of ROM with 8GB internal memory, 256MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 5MP camera with CMOS flash, noise suppression tech from Audience, A-GPS, digital compass sensor and microSD card slot. Priced at $199 on contract and will be available from November 8.

HTC HD7:

HTC HD7

Another HTC device that will make its way out is HD7. HD7’s claim to fame is its big screen, which is 4.3-inch – the largest on a WP7 phone. HD7 is also powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and in addition to the large screen, it has a 5MP camera with dual LED flash and 720p HD video recorder, GPS, 16GB internal memory and more. T-Mobile will release the phone in mid-November.

Dell Venue Pro:

T-Mobile has also scored another WP7 phone – the Dell Venue Pro. Venue Pro is a vertical slider phone that gives the best of two worlds, a huge 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen and a physical QWERTY keyboard. The phone also features gorilla glass for protection, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 5MP camera, etc. Venue Pro will arrive in time for holidays.

HTC 7 Mozart:

HTC 7 Mozart

HTC’s onslaught with WP7 continues with a phone for European and Asia Pacific region. It’s the 7 Mozart destined to come to UK and France via Orange, Germany via Deutsche Telekom AG and Telstra in Australia. HTC 7 Mozart again has the same Snapdragon processor and includes a 3.7-inch S-LCD display, 576MB RAM, 512MB ROM with 8GB internal storage, 8MP camera with Xenon flash and 720p HD video recording, Dolby Mobile and SRS support, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 3.5mm headphone jack and 1300mAh battery.

HTC 7 Trophy:

HTC 7 Trophy is set to reach stores in France, Germany, Spain, UK and Australia. Trophy features a 3.8-inch WVGA display, 512MB ROM, 576MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11n, 5MP camera with flash and 720pHD video recording, 8GB internal storage, A-GPS and 1300mAh battery.

HTC 7 Pro:

Not a part of the holiday lineup but HTC will launch this WP7 phone on Sprint in the first half of 2011. HTC 7 Pro features a tilted QWERTY keyboard.
