Jio has launched its device tracking alternative to Apple AirTag called the JioTag Air. While the name is nearly similar, JioTag Air is priced almost at half of the Apple AirTag and works with both Apple iOS and Android.
This square shaped device uses Bluetooth 5.3 LE and can be tracked using Apple Find My and JioThings app on Android.
JioTag Air comes bundled with an extra battery, a lanyard that can be attached to wallets or keychain. As per Jio, a single battery on JioTag Air should last for 12 months. The JioTag Air features a built-in speaker with a sound output of up to 120 dB. This helps in locating the JioTag Air. There is also a reminder mode that send alerts/notifications to your paired phone if you leave the tracker behind. There is a lost mode that helps track a lost JioTag Air.
The utility of JioTag Air or for that matter any tracking device is huge. For instance, it can be placed in your luggage, can be tagged to your child and more. As compared to the Apple AirTag, that only works on iOS devices, the JioTag Air looks affordable and gets the thing done as of now on paper.
JioTag Air retails for Rs. 1,499 and can be purchased from Amazon India or JioMart online.
