Motorola has unveiled its latest offering, the new tracking device called – moto tag. Using Ultra-wide band technology of an Android supported phone, the moto tag can help track and locate your important items. Like the Apple AirTag, the moto tag can be attached to items like keys, wallets, and luggage, allowing you to locate them with ease using the Google Find My Device network.
The moto tag also has a handy button that, when pressed, can ring your phone to help you find it. It can also be used as a remote control for taking photos, making it easier to capture the perfect shot without holding the phone or using a timer. This feature works with any Android phone, including the Motorola Razr family.
The moto tag uses the secure and private Find My Device network from Google. Your location data is encrypted, ensuring that only you (or someone you choose to share it with) can see the tag’s location. The device is also compatible with automatic unknown tracker alerts on Android and iOS, helping to protect against unwanted tracking. Users can manually scan for unknown tags at any time.
Setting up the moto tag is simple. Once powered on and near your smartphone, it can quickly pair using Google Fast Pair. The moto tag app offers several customization options, including changing the tag’s name, adjusting alert volumes, and checking battery life.
The moto tag has a sleek design that fits with most third-party accessories, making it easy to attach to all your valuables. Its IP67 rating means it is resistant to dust, dirt, and water immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, ensuring durability for everyday use and adventures. The CR2032 battery lasts up to a year on a single charge and is easily replaceable.
In terms of pricing and availability, the moto tag will be available in select markets in the coming months. There has been no update on the pricing.
