Amazon expands its Echo series with Echo Input Portable smart speaker

December 4, 2019 By Anish Leave a Comment

Amazon has launched Echo Input Portable smart speaker, expanding its Echo series. As the name suggests, this is the first Amazon Alexa powered portable speaker from Amazon. It features a 4800mAh rechargeable battery and can be carried along. It features 360-degree audio and uses the same far-field voice recognition like other Echo devices.

Since it is powered by battery, one can unplug the device and still access Alexa. Echo Input Portable has a 10-hour battery life as per Amazon. Like other Echo speakers, the Echo Input Portable can stream music from Amazon Prime Music, Apple Music, JioSaavn, Gaana or Hungama Music. One can also connect Echo Input Portable to a new or existing Multi-Room Music group for synchronised streaming across rooms or your entire home. And, if you have multiple Echo devices within hearing distance, Amazon’s Echo Spatial Perception (ESP) technology intelligently calculates the clarity of their voice and determines which Echo is closest and then responds to the request.

One can also control compatible smart home devices such as lights, plugs, and fans from Philips, Wipro, Syska, TP-Link and more using this device. The new Echo Input Portable is available with a black fabric design for an introductory price of Rs. 4,999. The device can be pre-ordered from Amazon India and will start shipping from 18 December.
