Xiaomi unveiled its Redmi 8A budget phone for the masses. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 439 processor and comes in three colours, Midnight Black, Ocean Blue and Sunset Red. The phone comes in two variants, 2GB+32GB and 3GB+32GB. The phone supports Micro SD card up to 512GB and can be used with two SIMs as it has a dedicated Micro SD card slot. Redmi 8A features a new aura wave design at the rear for better grip which also keeps fingerprints away. Redmi 8A has a screen size of 6.22-inch and comes with HD display. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
In terms of camera, the Redmi 8A comes with 12-megapixel SONY IMX 363 rear camera. It features dual-phase detection autofocus, supports AI portrait mode and AI scene detection. The front camera is 8-megapixel with AI. The phone lacks a fingerprint sensor but comes with face unlock feature to unlock the phone. The good thing about Redmi 8A is that it is splash-proof with P2i coating. The battery of the phone is 5000mAh with support for 18W fast charging. It has a USB Type-C port for charging.
The 2GB version of the phone will be available at Rs. 6,499 and the 3GB for Rs. 6,999. The phones will be available on Flipkart.com and Mi.com from 29 September.
