Bowers & Wilkins launches Qualcomm aptX adaptive sync wireless headphones

September 20, 2019 By Anish Leave a Comment

Audiophiles often prefer headphones that are a notch above, Bowers & Wilkins is one such audio technology company that offers high-end personal audio solutions. Recently the company announced three new wireless headphones that are powered by ultra-low power Qualcomm QCC5100 Series Bluetooth Audio, all new aptX Adaptive audio technology, low-latency, high- resolution wireless technology at 24/48 streaming quality. The headphones also include ANC that runs at 16 times the sampling rate to ensure the best performance with no degradation to the audio quality.

The three headphones in the series are PX7 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones, PX5 Wireless on-ear Headphones, and PI3 Wireless in-ear Headphones. All these devices come with active noise canceling and have custom-designed drivers. The over-ear PX7 features 43mm driver and the in-ear PI3 sports dual hybrid-drivers.

Out of the three, the PX7 is the premium model that features over-ear ear cups, fast USB-C charging, 30 hours battery life and 5 hours of audio playback with 15 minutes of quick charge. There are proximity sensors as well in PX7, thus music pauses when the cups are lifted off and resumes when they are placed back on ears.

The PX5 earphone is smaller, lighter and comes with adaptive active noise cancellation technology. It also supports USB-C fast charge and delivers 25 hours of playback on a single charge. In terms of quick charging, the PX5 gives 3 hours of audio on a 15-minute charge. To block the surrounding noise, the PX5 features a combination of six microphones.

The PI3 is an in-ear model that has hybrid dual drivers. These earphones are ideal for people with an active lifestyle. Like others, this also supports USB-C charging, has a battery life of 8 hours and gives 2 hours of audio on a 15-minute quick charge. It comes with a flexible silicone neckband and magnetic ear-buds for lightweight, tangle-free, continuous wear. The earpieces in the P13 clip together when you take them off, automatically pausing the music, and resumes when you unclip them.

The PI3 is priced at USD 199.99, PX7 for USD 399.99 and the PX5 for USD 299.99. The Indian pricing and availability for the same are not yet revealed.
