July 17, 2019 By Anish Leave a Comment

Redmi series from Xiaomi has come a long way. After 5 years of existence, Xiaomi is rebooting the Redmi series with the K20 Pro and K20 phones. The K20 Pro is been promoted by Xiaomi officials for a few days now on social media channels. Touted to be a flagship phone, the K20 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 855 clocking at 2.84GHz. The K20 Pro comes in two options, 6GB RAM/128GB storage, and 8GB RAM/256GB storage. The K20 Pro is the first phone in the Redmi series to feature a triple camera setup, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586, 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and an 8-megapixel (2x telephoto) lens. It also features Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). The K20 Pro’s 20-megapixel front camera has a pop-up mechanism which Xiaomi claims to be tested for 300,000 times (that’s around 8 years at 100 selfies per day). The pop-up camera housing also integrates a subtle LED light including a notification LED. In terms of videos, the K20 Pro can capture 960fps slow-motion video and 4K resolution videos at 60fps

With regards to the design of the phone, the phone comes with a Fire and Ice design in flame red and glacier blue colours. Besides, the K20 Pro will also come with a Kevlar patterned back (carbon black). The rear of the phone is designed using a 3D curved Gorilla Glass 5 back.

The phone features a 6.39-inch display with a 91.9% screen-to-body ratio and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The phone features face unlocking and also has an in-display fingerprint scanner. One of the highlights of the phone is the 4000mAh battery that supports 27W fast charge, however, Xiaomi bundles an 18W charger with the retail unit, the 27W fast charger needs to be purchased separately. The K20 Pro also features P2i’s water-resistant nano-coating, rubberized ports and an 8-layer graphite sheet for maximum heat dissipation. The K20 Pro runs on Android 9 with MIUI 10.

The other phone, K20 is a scaled-down version of the K20 Pro. It is powered by Snapdragon 730 processor and comes with 64GB/128GB storage and 6GB RAM. Other features are the same as the K20 Pro.

The K20 Pro, 6GB/128GB version will retail for Rs. 27,999 and the 8GB/256GB will retail for Rs. 30,999. On the other hand, the K20 64GB version will retail for Rs. 21,999 and 128GB version for Rs. 23,999. The devices will be available for the Alpha sale buyers on July 17 from 8PM. For regular buyers, the devices will be available at Mi Home stores, Flipkart and Mi.com on July 22 from 12PM.
