Xiaomi to launch Redmi 6 series phones in India

Xiaomi has been teasing with a new video on Social media platforms with #DeshkeNayeSmartphones with a ‘6’ highlighted among three phones. This message reveals that probably on 5 September Xiaomi will be launching the new Redmi 6 series phones that will be Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro. All these phones have already been launched in China.

Redmi 6 Pro

Starting with the Redmi 6 Pro, the phone features a 5.84-inch notch display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor. The phone will come in various RAM/storage variants. In China, the Redmi 6 Pro comes in 3GB/32GB, 4GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB variants. All these variants retail under Rs. 15,000 in China with the 3GB/32GB retails close to Rs. 10,500. Xiaomi also focus on good cameras on its devices, on these lines, the Redmi 6 Pro will feature AI-enabled dual-camera of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel at the rear. The front has a 8-megapixel selfie camera. 

The mid-version, Redmi 6 will be powered by MediaTek Helio P22 processor and is a budget focused phone. It comes with 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB option. There are 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual cameras at the rear. The front camera is 5-megapixel AI enabled. The phone comes with a rear fingerprint sensor and 3000mAh battery. Expected price for India will be under Rs. 10,000.

The cheapest of the lot, the Redmi 6A features a Helio A22 chipset with the display specifications same as the Redmi 6. However, as an entry level phone, it features 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It features Face unlock feature but lacks fingerprint sensor. The battery in the phone is 3000mAh. There is a single rear camera of 13-megapixel and front camera of 5-megapixel. Ideally the phone will be priced under Rs. 6,500.
