LG LAP340 SoundPlate

Majority of the televisions available today prioritise picture quality over sound and rightly so because you don’t base your television purchase for its audio quality. Sound Bars tend to address this audio issue but then it does take some space. LG’s LAP340 SoundPlate on the other hand, promises to solve this with its slim, under-the-TV design. But does it deliver on the audio front? We take a look.

LG LAP340 SoundPlate

The LAP340 SoundPlate design is true to its word – clean and minimalistic. The Sound Plate is designed to be placed beneath televisions in sizes between 32-inch and 55-inches, which is just 35mm above its base and makes it a pretty sight when placed beneath the TV set. The LED light, speakers and dual sub-woofers are concealed in the mesh-like design of the SoundPlate.

LG LAP340 SoundPlate

The LAP340 SoundPlate comes with an optical-in that needs to be connected with the TV. This is the only thing you require to output sound from the television set and if you have a compatible LG TV, you can easily connect via Bluetooth with Wireless Sound Sync. Other Bluetooth-enabled devices like tablets, mobile phones, laptops can also be connected to the SoundPlate.

LG LAP340 SoundPlate

The slim chassis of the SoundPlate houses neodymium speakers to create a good 4.1 channel surround sound and built-in dual sub-woofers helps with the bass. In our brief test, we were more than satisfied with the audio output offered by the SoundPlate. The remote also features a switch to toggle Cinema Mode that enhances the audio quality during movies. In short, the SoundPlate fulfills its promise of delivering good quality sound that handles the low and mid-range frequencies fairly well.

LG LAP340 SoundPlate

The LAP340 SoundPlate retails for Rs. 30,990 and perfectly complements your TV if you have a dearth of space in your place. It not only enhances the audio but also has an aesthetically pleasing design.

Rating: 35stars
Pros: Design, Good Sound Quality
Cons: NA
