Seagate today announced two new external hard drives from the Backup Plus range. First is the Backup Plus Slim that brings USB 3.0 support in a compact and slim design. Hardware is just one part though. The drive also comes with an updated version of Seagate Dashboard that backs up content automatically from the user’s hard drive and even from their Facebook or Flickr account. Furthermore, the drive now also supports backing up of data from mobile devices (Android and iOS) through Seagate Mobile Backup app and supports cloud services like Dropbox and Google Drive.
The Backup Plus Slim portable is priced at Rs. 4,250 for the 500GB variant, Rs. 6,000 for 1TB and Rs. 10,500 for 2TB version.
Seagate also announced the Backup Plus FAST that boasts a huge 4TB of storage in a compact chassis. The Seagate Backup Plus FAST drive features a metal top-case for enhanced durability and resistance to scratches and fingerprints, does not need an external power supply, supports USB 3.0 interface and Dashboard and mobile backup app support.
The 4TB Seagate Backup Plus FAST is priced at Rs. 25,000.
