In a somewhat surprising move, Google announced the availability of Chromebooks for the Indian market. The first two Chromebooks will be available in India from October 17 from Acer (C720) and HP (Chromebook 14) and will sell for Rs. 22,999 and Rs. 26,990 respectively.
Chromebooks for the uninitiated, are like regular laptops but are powered by Google’s Chrome OS. Chrome OS gives easier access to Google services and even gives 100GB of free Google Drive storage for 2 years. 3rd party apps can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store.
Flipkart is currently taking pre-order of the notebooks.
