There were rumours of a shaky relationship between HTC and Beats Electronics and today they’ve confirmed of a split with HTC agreeing to sell its remaining 24.84 percent stake valued at $265 million to Beats.
HTC integrated Beats Audio in its smartphones and as a part of the deal the logo was showcased at the back of the HTC device signifying the Beats technology.
The move was on the cards and given our interaction with an HTC executive, we can expect similar audio technology that will be developed in-house by HTC.
HTC had bought 50.1 percent stake in Beats Electronics for $300 million couple of years only to sell half of it a year later for $150 million.
