Samsung brings Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear to India

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear

Samsung has always maintained India as one of the most important markets and today’s announcement of the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear reiterates the fact. Samsung will release both the devices in 149 countries on September 25 and India will be one of them.

Galaxy Note 3 is the latest instalment in Samsung’s successful Note series and packs in some serious hardware. The smartphone features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED full HD display (1920×1080 pixels) and is powered by Samsung’s 1.9GHz Exynos 5 Octa processor and 3GB RAM. Users will also find a 13 megapixel camera with smart stabilisation and CRI LED flash, full HD video recording support, 2 megapixel camera on the front, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, microSD card slot, 32GB internal memory and 3200mAh battery.

Galaxy Note 3’s USP is the S Pen input that also brings some new features like the Air Command, which when hovering on the screen opens up a multitude of options.

Furthermore, there’s Air View, Multi window, Pop Up Play, Group Play, My Magazine support, KNOX security for businesses, remote wipe and tracking with Find My Mobile.

Samsung will sell the Galaxy Note 3 for Rs. 49,900 in Black, White and Pink. Customers will also get 2GB of internet data from Vodafone for two months and content worth Rs. 15,000 free from a zone called ‘Content Gifts’ in Samsung Apps.

Giving Galaxy Note 3 company is the new Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which is not the first offering from Samsung in the wearables category but certainly a serious one. The Galaxy Gear connects with the Galaxy Note 3 over Bluetooth and allows users to take calls, read emails and messages and even use apps.

The watch also boasts some features like Smart Relay, S Voice, Voice Memo, Memographer. On the hardware side, Galaxy Gear is equipped with a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320×320 pixels, 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 1.9MP camera with 720p HD video recording support, 315mAh battery (up to 25 hours of battery life with normal use), mic, speakers, gyroscope, accelerometer.

Galaxy Gear is priced at Rs. 22,990.
