WD launches 1TB Velociraptor HDD in India

Western Digital has expanded its hard drive offerings with the new 1TB HDD in the VelociRaptor range. The hard drive is designed for performance that boasts rotations of 10,000 per minute, SATA 6Gb/s interface support and 64MB cache.

Furthermore, the 2.5-inch HDD features Rotary Acceleration Feed Forward (RAFF) that optimizes performance when used with multi-drive chassis and NoTouch ramp touch technology that does not allow the recording head to touch the disk media.

WD is also bundling an IcePack enclosure that allows users to integrate this drive into systems supporting 3.5-inch drives.

The 1TB VelociRaptor will sell for Rs. 15,499 whereas the 500GB version for Rs. 9,299 and 250GB for Rs. 6,199.
