Microsoft has confirmed to buy Yammer for $1.2 billion in cash. The enterprise social network service that is being used by over 5 million corporate users will be integrated into the Microsoft Office Division and will continue to act as a standalone service with Microsoft investing in Yammer’s freemium and paid service.
Yammer CEO promises customers the same experience as before but will see more connections to Microsoft services like SharePoint, Office365, Dynamics and Skype over time.
