One product that amazed CES attendees last month was the introduction of Motorola’s Atrix 4G phone. A regular looking Tegra 2 running phone but with an ability to power as a laptop or even use it with a HD Multimedia dock.
Now, AT&T and Motorola have finally released the pricing and availability of the phone which can be termed as sensible but as far as accessory pricing goes, they’ve got it all wrong. The phone will be on preorder from Feb 13 and will go on sale by March 6.
Atrix 4G will sell for $199.99 on 2-year contract but if you want to buy that cool laptop dock, it will set you back by $499.99 Yup, that 500 freakin dollars which can otherwise spend on a decent full-fledged notebook. AT&T is also selling an Entertainment Access Kit for $189.99 that includes Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, Bluetooth keyboard, mouse and remote control.
To rehash, Atrix 4G runs Android 2.2 OS, dual-core Tegra processor, 4-inch qHD display, Wi-Fi, GPS, webtop application support, 16GB internal memory and microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB.
