Seagate’s Momentus XT Hybrid Drive launched in India

Seagate has launched its SSD-HDD Hybrid drives in the Indian market. The 9.5mm 2.5-inch Momentus XT offers a unique way to give consumers the speed of SSDs and affordability of HDDs by integrating 4GB of NAND flash and up to 500GB HDD capacity.

By combining both SSD and HDD onto one drive and using Seagate’s Adaptive Memory technology, the Momentus XT identifies the data pattern and copies frequently accessed data onto the flash memory for quicker access.

This way, Seagate says the Momentus XT Hybrid drive is 100% and 80% faster than conventional disks running at 5,400RPM and 7,200RPM respectively.

Seagate will sell the drive in three storage capacities – 250GB, 320GB and 500GB for Rs. 6,800, Rs. 7,400 and Rs. 8,100 respectively.
