Apple refreshes Macbook Pro range with faster CPUs [Updated w/ Indian pricing]

Apple has updated its Macbook Pro lineup by bringing choices of faster processors, Nvidia graphics and longer battery life. The 13-inch Macbook Pro now comes with Intel’s 2.4GHz or 2.66GHZ Core 2 Duo prcessors, integrated GeForce 320M GPU, 4GB RAM, 250GB or 320GB HDD and up to 10 hours of battery life. It will be available in two different configurations priced at $1,199 and $1,499.

The 15- and 17-inches MBP have got meaty upgrades as well with Core i5/i7 CPUs and discrete GeForce GT 330M GPU. Apple says its automatic graphics switching tech helps the Mac to decide whether to use the discrete graphics or integrated graphics. Both Macbook Pros can deliver up to 9 hours of battery life.

15-inch Macbook Pro pricing starts from $1,799 whereas 17-inch MBP starts from $2,299.

UPDATE: Indian pricing of updated MBPs. The notebooks will be available in India within two weeks.

13-inch Macbook Pro ranges from Rs. 72,900 – Rs. 89,900
15-inch Macbook Pro starts from Rs. 1,09,900 and goes up to Rs. 1,29,900
17-inch Macbook Pro is priced at Rs. 1,36,900

    For me, the big story here (besides the processor bump,) is the greatly extended battery life. If the 10 hour claims are actually true, this really puts MacBooks light years ahead of any other laptop. This will be big for anyone who travels and don’t have ready access to AC power to constantly recharge their batteries.
