LG Electronics wants to lead the 3D TV market and thus to help them achieve the goal, they’ve entered into a deal with SkyLife, a Korean Digital Satellite 3D Broadcaster. The Memorandum of Understanding between both the companies includes working closely to develop technologies, set new standards and expand the nascent 3D market.

SkyLife aims to invest $25m in developing 3D content while LG will work to improve 3D technology by trying to reduce eye strain or dizziness.

Sensing a bright future, LG also announced some huge plans related to its 3D products. LG will launch more 3D TVs next year ranging from 42- to 72-inches in size. The 3D tech will also be applied to LG’s upcoming projectors.

On the sales front, LG reckons they could sell up to 400,000 units in 2010 and more than 3.4m units by 2011.

LG 3D TV is selling in South Korea for now but LG expects to launch in North America and Europe in 2010 followed by Asia and Central/South America in 2011.
