Acer USA will soon be selling four new Aspire Gemstone laptops – Aspire 8930, Aspire 6930, Aspire 5735 and Aspire 4730. Starting with the Aspire 8930, it serves as a desktop replacement as well as adding capabilities of high definition. It has a large 18.4-inch HD CineCrystal widescreen display, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GPU, Dolby and Blu-Ray support. It will retail for $1700.
Next in the line is Aspire 6930 which has everything less than its 18.4-inch sibling. It has a processor with lesser clock speed, less RAM and 16-inch HD CineCrystal widescreen display. The only common thing between these two is the integrated Dolby support for top-notch audio. Price: $700.
Aspire 5735 lowers the bar a bit lower with 15.6-inch screen, dual core Intel processor and will try to provide all the multimedia functions. It is priced at $550.
Lastly, Aspire 4730 is targeted at those whose priority is mobility. The screen measures 14.1-inch and is more or less spec’ed similarly to Aspire 5735. In fact, it also costs the same as 5735.
