NTT Docomo and Mitsumi Electric Co. Ltd have jointly developed an intelligent Li-ion battery pack which can display the problems and status of the battery on the mobile screen. The pack is equipped with a 8-bit microprocessor which helps it to collect data like battery voltage, current, temperature and then analyze to know if the battery functions properly or not. As a safety measure, they will be shipping these battery packs with the new phones.
