Nokia has found some support from the staff of U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in the trial against Apple. The staff that acts on behalf of public as a third party in the case say that Nokia will not be found liable of infringing Apple’s claimed patents.
“The evidence will not establish a violation,” staff said in a pre-hearing memo.
Nokia is fighting with Apple that alleges the Finnish mobile maker of infringing patents related to the device boot up and power management.
Although staff is the third party in the case, their opinions can be ignored by the ITC judge reviewing the case. The judge is said to release the findings by February, after which will be reviewed by a six-member commission that could delay the final outcome by June.
