Sharp has introduced a MID in the NetWalker series to woo the Japanese consumers. Although it’s designed differently than the previous NetWalker model, PC-Z1, the innards remain the same. The new PC-T1 adopts a 5-inch touchscreen display with high 1024×600 pixel resolution but adds handwriting recognition to compensate the missing keyboard. Other than that, you’ll still find an ARM-based Freescale CPU, Ubuntu 9.04 OS, Wi-Fi, microSD card slot, e-dictionary, access to an e-book store with around 25,000 titles and 6 hours of battery life.
Sharp will sell the MID from next month in Japan at a price of 47,000 yen ($510).
