Sharp unveils PC-Z1 Netwalker ARM-based netbook in Japan

Sharp has announced an ARM-based PC-Z1 Netwalker touchscreen netbook in the Japanese market. In fact MID would be an apt tag since it sits nicely between the netbook and mobile phone nomenclature. Anyways, the small PC-Z1 is powered by Freescale’s Cortex-A8 based i.MX515 SoC and features include a 5-inch touchscreen display (1024×600), Ubuntu 9.0.4 OS, optical pick-up that emulates a trackpad, Wi-Fi, mini-USB and regular USB 2.0 port, 720p HD support, 512MB internal memory, 4GB flash and can be expanded with microSDHC card. The battery life is claimed to be around 10 hours.
Sharp is already selling the White and Black variants in Japan while the Red colored PC-Z1 will arrive in October.
