Apple shifted 300,000 iPads on launch day

No it’s not anywhere close to the analyst’s 700,000 claim but it’s good nonetheless. Apple has released launch day figures of its iPad sales and it totals to 300,000 units that includes pre-orders, sales from channel partners and Apple stores.
Apple is also trumpeting the rise in the apps download. On the first day itself, iPad users downloaded over a million apps and over 250,000 ebooks from the iBookstore.
“It feels great to have the iPad launched into the world—it’s going to be a game changer”, said Steve Jobs.
