Zii powered products are yet to be seen in the real market but ZiiLABS, creators of Zii chips and Creative’s subsidiary is continuing its domination in the SoC sector. They’ve announced the 3rd generation media applications processor, ZMS-08. The Stemcell processor offers quite a number of features that diminishes the difference between the capabilities of a conventional PC and a converged device.

ZMS-08 is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 CPU and features Android support, full HD 1080p H.264 video decode and 24fps encode, simultaneous 720p decode and encode that can be used for videoconferencing, accelerated OpenGL ES 2.0, integrated USB/HDMI interfaces and Creative’s X-Fi and Crystalizer audio technologies.

ZiiLABS is already sampling the chip with certain customers while volume shipment is expected sometime in first quarter of 2010.
