Remember Zii? Yea, the SoC from Creative that was endlessly hyped to ‘change everything’. Well, to show how worthy their chip is, they will be demonstrating their ZMS-05 media processor to run up to 1080p content on the Android platform. Now if ZiiLABS’ ZMS SoC can do the full HD trick with ease, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon can bite the dust since it can decode HD content only up to 720p. On the other hand, Nvidia Tegra will be a perfect competitor because its 600 Series supports HD content up to 1080p.
ZiiLABS is a wholly owned OEM unit of Creative and MWC is a perfect stage for them to show their prowess. I wish Creative throws its Android Zii powered media player as well. In fact, they should. They have a valid reason to do that.
