Major handset manufacturers have agreed to supply a standard mobile phone charger all over Europe in a bid to provide some relief to the consumers as well as the environment. Consumers will no longer need to carry different chargers for their multiple phones as one will work with almost every handset that they’ll buy next year. Standard micro-USB will be used as to ensure maximum compatibility.
The companies agreeing to the pact includes Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, Apple, LG, NEC, Qualcomm, RIM and Texas Instruments.
