Apple, RIM (Research in Motion) and Nokia are contemplating to launch Indian variant of their respective App Stores. Though, Apple App Store and Nokia Ovi Store are accessible from India, there are not many apps specific to India which makes it a problem for them to target the Indian handset users. RIM’s Blackberry App World is currently available in North America and Europe only.

The launch of India-centric apps will enable these companies to boost the use of such dedicated stores as well as develop an apps eco-system with the help of Indian developers.
